Medallion celebrates our historic Naples Fishing Pier. Originally build as a freight and passenger dock in 1888, it was also the home of the first Naples Post Office. The post office and a large portion of the pier were destroyed during a hurricane in 1922. The hurricanes of 1910, 1922, 1926, and 1960 each took their toll on the pier, but this favorite of landmarks has always been rebuilt and remains a monument to the colorful history of Naples, Florida.
